The Integral Solid Waste Management Plan (PMIRS) developed for a food sector company, located in the Department of Valle del Cauca, is based on an initial environmental diagnosis that allows us to know the characteristics of the company's productive process activities and the negative environmental aspects and impacts that may be currently being generated to the environment and non-compliance with current environmental legal requirements in this aspect.
From the diagnosis it can be determined which activities within the productive process are those that have greater repercussion as generators of environmental problems with the purpose of giving an opportune solution to the same ones, in this document it is possible to give to know so much the programs as environmental projects with their respective objectives and goals where different alternatives of use were raised according to the type of solid residues generated in each area, as they are mainly the organic residues (used cooking oil, starch and peel of potato) and the inorganic residues; recyclables (paper, plastic and cardboard) in order to take advantage of the waste within a new process and thus see it reflected in the decrease in payments for final disposal and comply in this aspect to legal requirements. In addition, a training, education, and awareness-raising schedule was implemented for the proper management of solid waste generated by the company from separation at the source, internal transportation, collection center, and delivery to the entity that will make the final disposal, as well as for the importance of proper waste management, describing the negative effects caused by inadequate management and handling.
