| dc.description.abstract | El Síndrome de Inmunodeficiencia Adquirida (SIDA) es una enfermedad crónica que compromete el sistema inmunológico, predisponiendo a los pacientes a infecciones oportunistas (IO). Esta monografía es una revisión sistemática con un enfoque cuantitativo en el que se realiza un análisis para identificar las mejores prácticas de enfermería en la atención integral de estos pacientes, enfocándose en el manejo de infecciones oportunistas respiratorias, donde los afectados cuentan con recuentos de linfocitos T < 200 células/mm³ (1). Para estructurar la pregunta de investigación se empleó la herramienta PICO (Paciente, Intervención, Comparación, Outcome), y se desarrolló una estrategia de búsqueda exhaustiva y estructurada en bases de datos académicas con acceso completo a la información. La selección de los estudios se llevó a cabo conforme a las directrices de la metodología PRISMA. Lo que garantizó transparencia y rigor metodológico en el proceso de revisión. Para esta monografía se consultaron cuatro bases de datos (PubMed, Science Direct, Scopus y LILACS. La selección de los estudios se realizó siguiendo criterios rigurosos de calidad y pertinencia, priorizando investigaciones recientes y basadas en evidencia que contribuyan al conocimiento sobre el manejo de infecciones oportunistas respiratorias en esta población. Entre los hallazgos, se identificó que la infección respiratoria Oportunista (IRO) de mayor prevalencia es la neumonía por Pneumocystis jirovecii. Asimismo, se evidenció que las prácticas de enfermería más efectivas son aquellas que integran no sólo los aspectos técnicos y físicos del tratamiento, sino también en los componentes emocionales, sociales y psicológicos. Se concluye que las intervenciones de enfermería desempeñan un papel clave en la prevención y manejo de las IRO en personas con VIH/SIDA, evidenciando la necesidad de protocolos específicos y fomentar la formación continua del personal de salud para mejorar los resultados clínicos en esta población vulnerable. | spa |

| dc.description.abstractenglish | Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is a chronic disease that compromises the immune system, predisposing patients to opportunistic infections (OIs). This study is a systematic review with a quantitative approach, aimed at identifying best nursing practices in the comprehensive care of these patients, focusing specifically on the management of respiratory opportunistic infections in individuals with T lymphocyte counts < 200 cells/mm³. To structure the research question, the PICO framework (Patient, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome) was employed, and a comprehensive and structured search strategy was developed using academic databases with full-text access. The selection of studies followed the PRISMA guidelines, ensuring transparency and methodological rigor throughout the review process. For this monograph, four databases were consulted: PubMed, ScienceDirect, Scopus, and LILACS. The studies were selected based on strict quality and relevance criteria, prioritizing recent and evidence-based research that contributes to the understanding of respiratory opportunistic infection management in this population. Among the findings, the most prevalent respiratory opportunistic infection (ROI) identified was Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia. Furthermore, the most effective nursing practices were those that addressed not only the technical and physical aspects of treatment, but also the emotional, social, and psychological components. It is concluded that nursing interventions play a key role in the prevention and management of ROIs in people living with HIV/AIDS, highlighting the need for specific protocols and the promotion of continuous training for healthcare personnel to improve clinical outcomes in this vulnerable population. | spa |
