This research work entitled "Characterization of intercultural pedagogical practices and the
formation of Citizen Competences in Rural Educational Institutions of two Municipalities of the
Center of Valle Cauca, Tuluá and Guadalajara de Buga, developed under a quantitative, non
experimental design-type approach with descriptive scope, which starts from the application of
instruments such as the bibliographic review of background and statistical data, which allowed to
acquire strong arguments to raise the research question and also to be able to justify the
relevance of this study; then proceeded to take a tour of different authors who provided the
relevant concepts to contextualize them to the problem.
Therefore, for the data collection procedure, surveys were applied to 50% of the rural
institutions in each municipality and 30% of the students and teachers of the fifth, ninth and
eleven grades, which allowed us to make a description and analysis training in citizen
competences and intercultural pedagogical practices.
The outcomes obtained from this research, allowed to characterize the intercultural
pedagogical practices and the formation of Citizen Skills in Rural Educational Institutions of two
municipalities of the Center of Valle Cauca, Tuluá and Guadalajara de Buga.
